Thank you for visiting Cooking for Tots!  Before you dive into the recipe search, here is just a little info about me.  My name is Samina and I’m Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist and mother of two beautiful boys.   After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Hofstra University, I started working for a popular NY-based television station and after a little over a year, I realized it wasn’t for me.  At that time, I had the great opportunity to pursue my passion for nutrition.  After completing the didactic program at Queens College, I went on to complete my dietetic residency at North Shore University Hospital, which paved the way for me to earn the Registered Dietitian credentials.  I utilize my  training in nutrition science and education to convey accurate, evidence-based information to a wide range of audiences including consumers, children and health care professionals.  I’m a contributing writer for the W42ST magazine and a nutrition consultant for food brands and companies.  One of my latest projects has been launching a wellness program at son’s school to promote healthful eating habits amongst school-aged children and it’s been extremely rewarding on many levels!

I truly have a passion for nutrition and educating people on healthy eating.  I created Cooking for Tots to share my love for cooking and nutrition expertise with fun, healthy and delicious recipes and nutrition tips.  You’ll also find some fun kids activities and other destination suggestions for families.  I would love to hear any suggestions you may have for recipes or questions about my posts.
